Aurora Police Department Investigates Bomb Threat at Lotus

During 8th period on December 10th, students and staff at Lotus evacuated the building after the emergency evacuation alarm sounded.

Students and staff gathered out on the soccer field and waited to hear news. It was later announced that the evacuation was not a drill. The school received an anonymous phone call with what was later determined to be a fake bomb threat.

Mr. Williams, Secondary Dean of Student Culture, stated, “Everyone evacuated quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly. After a thorough sweep of the building by Search and Rescue, the Aurora Police Department, and the Fire Department, we all determined that there was not an actual threat to the building. Everyone did a great job.”
