For many, Winter is the time for avoiding the outdoors as much as possible, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Winter is a beautiful time in Colorado, and there is actually a lot to get out and do. We compiled a list of the top four things to check out over Winter Break this year!

1. First, on the list we have the Denver Zoo Lights where you can see, “60 illuminated acres of lights and more than 130 animated animal sculptures that swing through trees, jump across lawns, hide in bushes and appear in unexpected places.” The Denver Zoo Lights Start November 30th and end January 6th. You can go view these beautiful lights from 5:30 p.m until 8:30 p.m on most of these days. The Zoo lights are included with general admission.  It’s about $15.00 for people ages 12-64, $11.00 for 3-11, and $13.00 for ages 65+.

This is the Denver Zoo’s 28th year hosting the Zoo Lights event!

2. Another event that’s worth looking into is the Denver Christkindl Market. The Denver Christkindl Market began November 16th and ends on December 23rd. It begins at 11:00 a.m on most days but you can view their website for more details. Admission is free and there is something for everyone in the family. 3. The third event on our list is ice-skating at Denver International Airport. This event ends Sunday, January 6, 2019 and is open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (MT) daily. This event is completely free and a great way to spend your time with those who matter most to you.

4. The fourth and final event on our list not to be missed is the New Years fireworks show at 16th street mall, there is no better way to spend your first minutes in the new years than being around the people you love looking at a beautiful brightly lit sky, fireworks start at 9 pm and midnight on new years it’s completely free, and definitely something you should look into.
