Top 10 Albums of 2018

Twenty Eighteen was a great year for music. Some really great albums were released that were the soundtracks to our daily lives, whether we were hanging out with friends, going on drives, or studying for tests. Here are ten albums of 2018 that hit the top of the charts at Lotus.

  1. Astroworld: Travis Scott

Released on August 3rd, 2018, Travis Scott’s album made fans fall in love quickly. The most popular song, “Sicko Mode,” features Drake which attracted many followers. Travis Scott is now on his tour called “Astroworld: Wish You Were Here.”

  1. Scorpion: Drake

This popular album was released on June 29th, 2018. Fans absolutely loved this album. The most known song from the album is “In My Feelings.” A dance for this song went viral, and almost everyone has heard about it or tried it by now. This dance helped the song, along with the album, gain even more popularity.

  1. Championships: Meek Mill

Meek Mill never fails to impress, and this year he dropped another great album on November 30, 2018. Songs “Cold Hearted II” and “Going Bad” are at the top of the list for favorites from the album. Fans are now excited to go watch him perform these songs and many more in concerts.

  1. Sweetener: Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande has been in the music industry for years, and her new album Sweetener was a hit. This album was released on August 17, 2018. Some of the biggest hits from the album include “Breathin” and “no tears left to cry”.

  1. Swervo: G Herbo and Southside

Swervo was released on July 27, 2018. Many fans enjoyed this album, especially the songs that had features from different artists. This album was worked on by G Herbo and Southside.

  1. Lil Boat 2: Lil Yachty

Lil Yachty decided to release “Lil Boat 2” after the success of  “Lil Boat”  in 2016. This album, released on March 9, 2018, was a great start to the spring, and most fans loved the album.

  1. Stokeley: Ski Mask the Slump God

Stokeley is among those released later in the year since it was released on November 30, 2018. The songs in the album include creative lyrics as well as interesting titles like “Faucet Failure” and“Foot Fungus.”  This album also includes features from different artists.

  1. Queen: Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj is another singer that has been in the music industry for years. She is known for her bright colors and for spitting lyrics very quickly. Her new album, Queen, was very popular after its release on August 10, 2018. The most popular songs are “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Dreams,” and had fans going to social media to sing along. Released shortly after Astroworld, Travis Scott had more listeners which led to some drama.

  1. OnePointFive: Aminé

After disappearing for several months, Aminé came out with a new album, OnePointFive. There was a lot of controversy surrounding the singer with people calling him a “one hit wonder” after his song, “Caroline”, blew up. This album was released on August 15, 2018. One of the most popular songs of the album is “Reel it in.”

  1. Harder Than Ever: Lil Baby

Lil Baby gained a tremendous amount of followers and popularity after the songs “Drip Too Hard” and “Close Friends” were released. Harder Than Ever is an album by Lil Baby released on May 18, 2018. One of the most listened to songs from the album is “Yes Indeed” which features Drake.
