As you may know, many of the teachers at Lotus are proud owners of pets. Ms. Hall, a proud owner of a Bearded Dragon, is a Middle School Teacher here at Lotus. Sandy, her pet reptile, is a good source of education. Students often enjoy observing and playing with her during school hours.

Sandy is 5 years old. She was donated to Mr. Jobe, a former science teacher at Lotus, who gave her to Ms. Hall because he already had a bearded dragon.

Sandy likes visitors and meeting new people, but she’s also very demanding about her food and likes her water changed every day. Ms. Hall, owner of the pet stated, ¨Sandy is pretty low maintenance. She needs her water changed daily but only needs to be fed live food and dry food every week.¨

Sandy helps students gain knowledge about her species, and also offers a great opportunity for the children to learn to take responsibility, care and love for animals and surroundings.

Come check Sandy out in Ms. Hall’s room.
